Jeremy Olfert is a dedicated healthcare and public safety executive.. A registered paramedic since 1999, he brings more than 25 years of experience to the profession, grounded in a deep commitment to patient care, system improvement, and supporting the paramedics and emergency communications officers that deliver exceptional care every day.

Jeremy holds a Master of Arts in Leadership and has practiced as an Advanced Care Paramedic. Over the past 18 years, he has built a progressive leadership career within Alberta’s municipal and provincial Emergency Health Services (EHS) system. His experience spans frontline, supervisory, and executive roles across rural, urban, interfacility transport, and dispatch operations, shaping a values-based leadership approach that remains firmly rooted in the frontline experience, collaboration and systems thinking.

As Deputy Chief of Provincial Operations, Jeremy provides executive leadership for key provincial programs, including dispatch, system coordination, data science, public engagement, and Medical First Response. Previously, as Division Chief for the Edmonton Zone, he has helped advance modernization efforts, strengthening system collaboration, and championed meaningful engagement with frontline teams. He has also contributed to significant system improvements, including hospital offload initiatives, transfer of care policies, and provincial advisory work.

Despite his leadership roles, Jeremy views leadership first and foremost as service orientated, focused on empowering professionals, listening intently, and fostering a sense of shared ownership in the systems people work within. He is known for his approachable style and his commitment to building environments where people feel supported, valued, and heard.

Through his role with the Paramedic Chiefs of Canada, Jeremy is committed to advancing how paramedicine is understood, both by the public and within the profession itself. He is passionate about supporting innovation, strengthening collaboration, and helping shape a sustainable, inclusive future for paramedics and the communities they serve across Canada.
