Lighting the path with AI: Advanced analytics and decision support for first responders – new funding available from the Canadian Safety and Security Program
The Canadian Safety and Security Program (CSSP) is looking to develop several research micro-nets to advance the application of promising artificial intelligence (AI)
and machine learning technologies to support first responders.
Eligible applicants could receive funding up to $2 million over three years to build a network of expertise in support of Canada’s current and future safety and security needs.
The CSSP has launched a science and technology challenge that will focus on the following key areas:
- big data and algorithm-based tools for strategic and operational levels of analysis;
- responder analytics for the frontline;
- AI tools for detecting tri-service/emergency management trends, activities, and information fusion; and,
- improved situational awareness science and technology supports that go beyond current industry offerings.
Eligible applicants must submit a letter of intent by 2:00pm Eastern Time, November 15, 2023 to be considered for the second stage of the application process.

Éclairer la voie par l’IA : analyse avancée et aide à la décision pour les premiers intervenants – nouveau financement
disponible par le programme canadien pour la sûreté et la sécurité
Le programme canadien pour la sûreté et la sécurité (PCSS) cherche à développer plusieurs micro-réseaux de recherche pour faire progresser l’application des
technologies prometteuses d’intelligence artificielle (IA) et d’apprentissage automatique (MA) afin de soutenir les premiers intervenants.
Les candidats éligibles pourraient recevoir jusqu’à 2 millions de dollars de financement sur trois ans pour bâtir un réseau d’expertise à l’appui des besoins actuels et futurs du Canada en matière de sûreté et de sécurité.
Le PCSS a récemment lancé un défi scientifique et technologique qui se concentrera sur les domaines clés suivants :
- les mégadonnées et outils basés sur des algorithmes servant à des analyses stratégiques et opérationnelles
- l’analytique des intervenants en première ligne;
- les outils (IA) pour dégager des tendances, cibler l’activités et fusionner l’informations chez les trois corps d’intervention/de gestion
- des urgences ; et
- l’amélioration de l’aide scientifique et technologique à la connaissance de la situation qui va au-delà des offres actuelles de l’industrie.
Les candidats éligibles doivent soumettre une lettre d’intention par 14h00, heure de l’est, le 15 novembre 2023 pour être pris en considération pour la deuxième étape du processus de candidature.
Seuls les candidats qui soumettent une lettre d’intention seront considérés comme invités à soumettre une proposition complète.
