National Paramedic Services Week celebrated in Canada
The Southern Gazette
It is by no means an easy job, but knowing you can and do help people is very worthwhile, says Craig Barnes, a primary care paramedic with Grand Bank-Fortune Ambulance Service. Barnes started out as a volunteer with the organization, and in 2008, at age 48, he completed a year-long program. “The more I got at it, the more I liked it and seen what it was all about,” he said. Colin Clements, an emergency medical responder has been with the Grand Bank-Fortune service since learning they were looking for people in 2005. READ MORE

As Niagara Emergency Medical Services (EMS) marks national EMS Week, veteran advanced care paramedic Cameron and new primary care paramedic Brian Izzard reflected on the vast changes that have taken place in their field.
