As Chief of Peterborough County/City Paramedics, Randy brings over 27 years’ experience in Emergency Services. He began his EMS career in 1986 in south-western Ontario working as a paramedic. Before assuming his current position, Randy progressed through various roles including Supervisor of Quality Assurance and Human Resources, Deputy Chief of Peterborough County/City Paramedics and Chief of Essex-Windsor EMS.
Throughout his career, Randy continued to promote advancement in pre-hospital care through his involvement with base hospital programs and a variety of training and research initiatives. He has served as an active participant in numerous allied agency and stakeholder groups and has enjoyed several years’ involvement in a leadership role in EMS Disaster Response Planning.
Randy is a graduate of St. Clair College Windsor’s Electronics Technician Program and was awarded the Alumni of Distinction as a graduate of the Ambulance and Emergency Care Program. He is an A-EMCA with current certification as a Primary Care Paramedic and Certified Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC). He holds a certificate in Managing and Leading in a Municipal Environment through Loyalist College and has achieved accreditation as a Certified Municipal Manager Level III (CMM III) with EMS Executive and Emergency Management Professional Designation.
