The PCC Membership Services Committee (MSC) provides educational webinars for the benefit of members and non-members.

These webinars are held about once a month (except during summer break when many members are on vacation). Typically the webinars are available to all interested EMS providers, but are recorded and archived for later viewing by PCC Members from within the website.

These webinars are typically educational in nature, but are also used for other special needs, including for regular weekly sessions, along with members of NEMSMA, during the first several months of the H1N1 outbreak in 2009.

If you have an idea for a webinar topic, please contact us with your suggestion and contact information!

Our next webinar is scheduled for May 24, 2017 12pm EST, ‘Lean Management within a Paramedic Service’ with Gary Bryskiewicz, MBA, EMT-P | Deputy Chief Paramedic, Denver Health Paramedic Division

Lean Management within a Paramedic Service | 29 May 2017

What Will We Be Discussing?

Lean Management is an approach to running an organization that supports the concept of continuous improvement. The North American experience with Lean Management in healthcare appears to have begun in hospitals in the 1990s. Since then, well over 100 hospitals in the United States have been using the Lean Management System. Recently, Saskatchewan became the first jurisdiction in the world to apply Lean at a provincial scale across a variety of healthcare settings, including paramedic services.

As paramedic services in Canada begin their journey in Lean Management, much can be learned from paramedic services that have been on that journey considerably longer. This session will highlight the experiences of the Denver Health Paramedic Division. Denver Health first began to embrace its Lean principles in 2005.

Who will be Speaking?

Gary Bryskiewicz, MBA, EMT-P | Chief Paramedic, Denver Health Paramedic Division

Gary is the Chief of Administration with the Denver Health Paramedic Division. Gary has been involved with the Denver Health Lean Academy for the past six years and has been involved in many Lean events within the organization. Gary has a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing/Communications, and a Master’s of Business Administration from Regis University. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and is working towards his fellowship.
